We recognize that efficient cleaning of ship hulls is better for the water quality in the port and reduces CO2 emissions and fuel costs. The advantages of initiatives like ECOsubsea will enhance the sustainability of the entire transport chain.
Over the last three years we have been using ECOsubsea´s cleaning services across our vessels in Southampton, cleaning all quality paint brands, including Globic 9000, A-LF-Sea 250, Hempaguard X7 and Intersleek 970 and 1100. As ECOsubsea using the Soft-Jet technology we are able to clean our vessels from about once per year and up to 8 times within a 6-month period without any indication of deterioration to the anti-fouling, but with noticeable fuel reductions.
The holy grail is that their solutions makes both environmental and economic sense.
We cleaned Höegh Jeddah while performing cargo operation in Southampton. About 200 kg of dried fouling was removed efficiently from the hull. Initial tests after the hull cleaning indicate a speed gain of 0,6 knots and a fuel saving of abt. 2 Mt pr. Day.
For over 6 years, Wallenius Wilhelmsen has trusted EcoSubsea's equipment for cleaning hundreds of vessels in key ports. As a carrier prioritizing quality and the environment, we exclusively choose high-end AFP schemes. EcoSubsea's unique cleaning method outperforms traditional technologies, allowing us to clean vessels more frequently without compromising the paint scheme. It also enhances biofouling control, addressing the increasing focus on this issue by coastal states. Wallenius Wilhelmsen appreciates EcoSubsea's effective and eco-friendly approach.
